A Man'S Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (12 oz.) pkg. thin egg noodles
    3 or 4 onions, chopped
    2 Tbsp. melted margarine
    2 lb. ground chuck
    1 Tbsp. salad oil
    2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. pepper
    1 tsp. thyme
    1 (10 3/4 oz.) can tomato or celery soup
    1/2 c. evaporated milk
    1 1/2 c. (6 oz.) shredded Cheddar cheese
Preparation
    Cook noodles according to package directions; drain and rinse in cold water.
    In large skillet, saute onion in margarine over medium flame; set aside.
    Brown meat in same skillet in oil over medium-high flame; drain.
    Add salt, pepper, thyme and sauteed onion to meat.
    Combine soup and milk.
    Arrange one-third of noodles, half of meat-onion mixture and half of soup mixture in layers in a greased 4-quart casserole.
    Repeat layers.
    Arrange remaining noodles on top.
    Sprinkle with cheese.
    Bake in 350\u00b0 gas oven for 1 hour or until lightly browned.
    Yield:
    8 large servings.
