Ingredients

1 c. Steen cane syrup
1 c. sugar
1 c. oil
2 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
pinch of salt
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 eggs
1 c. hot water
Preparation

Sift flour with soda, salt and spices.
Set aside.
Mix syrup, sugar and oil together; beat well.
Add eggs; beat, then add flour mixture gradually while beating.
Add hot water last and mix well. Pour into greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan and bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 40 minutes or until done when tested with toothpick.
