Broccoli Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large bunch fresh broccoli, cut into flowerets
    1 c. thinly sliced carrots
    1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
    8 slices bacon
    1/2 c. mayonnaise
    2 to 3 Tbsp. sugar
    1 1/2 Tbsp. red wine vinegar
Preparation
    Place broccoli in colander and plunge into large pot of boiling water for about 10 seconds.
    Drain and dip immediately into ice water to stop cooking.
    Combine broccoli, carrots, cheese and bacon and toss gently.
    Combine mayonnaise, sugar and vinegar; mix well.
    Add mayonnaise mixture to broccoli mixture and toss well. Chill before serving.
