Glorified Gingerbread Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/2 tsp. ginger
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 egg
    2 Tbsp. molasses
    1 c. sour milk
    1 tsp. soda
    pinch of salt
Preparation
    Mix flour, sugar, shortening, ginger and cinnamon as for a pie crust (crumbly).
    Remove 1/2 cup of this and set aside.
    Into the rest, add egg, molasses, milk, soda and salt.
    Blend well, pour into a greased 7 x 12-inch greased cake pan.
    Crumble the remaining crumbs over the top.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 40 minutes, cake test with toothpick.
