Granny Bonniwell'S Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. butter
    3 c. sugar
    3 c. flour
    5 eggs
    1 c. milk
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. vanilla or almond or lemon (use only 1 tsp.)
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar very well.
    Add eggs, one at a time; beat well.
    Sift flour, baking powder and salt at least twice. Add flour alternately with milk to egg mixture.
    Beat well; add extract.
    Bake in tube pan 1 hour and 15 minutes at 325\u00b0.
