Marinated Mushrooms - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. olive oil
    1/3 c. wine vinegar
    1 clove garlic, halved
    1 bay leaf
    3/4 tsp. sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. dried whole basil
    6 peppercorns
    1 1/2 lb. medium mushrooms, halved
Preparation
    Combine all ingredients, except mushrooms, in a skillet. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for ten minutes.
    Stir in mushrooms and simmer for five minutes.
    Let cool.
    Cover and chill several hours.
    Drain before serving, removing garlic and bay leaf.
