Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 c. self-rising white corn meal mix
3/4 c. milk
1 egg, beaten
1 small onion, finely chopped

Preparation

Combine all ingredients and mix well.
Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls into deep, hot oil at 375\u00b0, frying only a few at a time, until golden brown.
Drain on absorbent paper.
Yields about 2 dozen hush puppies.
