Kulma(Norwegian Potato Balls, Or Something Like Them) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. grated raw potatoes
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    2 c. flour
    1 ham hock or butt portion of ham
Preparation
    Cook ham hock for 2 hours in a large pot of water.
    Remove the ham hock from the water.
    Spoon or form by hand dumplings (say about the size of a snowball).
    Drop the \"dumplings\" in the water (or broth by now).
    Cover; cook for 45 minutes.
    Remove \"dumplings\" from the water; serve on a platter with the ham.
    Just slice open the \"dumpling\" as you would a baked potato and add butter.
