Fruit-Nut Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
20 red candied cherries
2 rings green candied pineapple
1 lb. dates, chopped
1 lb. coarsely chopped pecans (4 c.)
4 eggs, separated
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 Tbsp. brandy or fruit juice
Preparation

Sift flour, salt and baking powder into bowl.
Cut up fruits, dates and nuts into it; stir.
Beat egg yolks until thick and lemon colored.
Add sugar to yolks, then brandy and vanilla. Combine the two mixtures well.
Last, fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
