Best Ever Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. yellow cake mix
    1 (20 oz.) can crushed pineapple with juice
    1 c. sugar
    1 large pkg. vanilla pudding (do not use instant)
    1 (8 oz.) carton whipped topping
    flaked coconut
Preparation
    Bake cake according to package instructions.
    Let cool.
    In saucepan, combine pineapple with juice and sugar.
    Bring to boil and stir until sugar is dissolved.
    Poke holes in cake with fork. Spread pineapple mixture over cake.
    Prepare pudding, spreading to edge of cake.
    Cover and refrigerate overnight.
    Serve with whipped topping and coconut.
