Mama Harding'S Hot Potatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 to 6 medium potatoes
    1/2 lb. bacon
    1/2 medium onion, sliced
    3 Tbsp. chili powder
    salt to taste
Preparation
    Cut potatoes into fairly large pieces; place in saucepan.
    Add enough water to just cover potatoes and bring to a boil.
    Cut bacon into 2 to 4 pieces and place in skillet along with onion slices.
    Fry together until crisp (almost burnt).
    When potatoes are about half done, add chili powder, bacon mixture and a little of the bacon fat.
    Cook until water thickens and potatoes are done, but not overdone.
    Salt to taste.
