Light Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. scalded milk or warm water
    1 yeast cake or pkg.
    1/4 c. warm water
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    4 Tbsp. shortening
    5 c. flour
Preparation
    Add yeast to 1/4 cup warm water.
    Let stand 5 minutes.
    Add shortening, salt and sugar to milk or warm water.
    Add soft yeast and flour.
    Beat well.
    Place in greased bowl and let rise 1 1/2 hours.
    Punch down and let rise a second time if desired.
    Work down and shape into rolls.
    Place in greased pans.
    Let rise and bake in hot oven.
