Kraut Chocolate Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2/3 c. butter
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    3 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. cocoa
    2 1/4 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 c. water
    2/3 c. finely chopped sauerkraut, that has been rinsed and drained
Preparation
    Thoroughly cream butter and sugar.
    Beat in the eggs and vanilla.
    Sift together the dry ingredients; add alternately with the water to the creamed mixture.
    Fold in the sauerkraut.
    Pour into 2 greased and floured 8-inch square or round cake pans.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
    Cool layers and then frost with the Mocha Frosting.
