Ingredients

1 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. almond extract
1 tsp. vanilla
2 egg yolks
3/4 c. chopped almonds
2 3/4 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 egg whites
4 doz. almond halves
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar.
Add egg yolks, then add nuts, flour and salt.
Roll into 1-inch balls.
Place on greased cookie sheet; flatten dough.
Brush tops with egg white.
Place 1/2 of an almond in center of each cookie.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
Makes about 45 cookies.
