Ingredients

1 c. whole wheat flour, sifted
2 tsp. baking powder
3 beaten egg yolks
1/2 c. melted butter
1 1/2 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 c. pecans, chopped
1 c. unbleached flour, sifted
1/2 tsp. salt
3 stiffly beaten egg whites
1 3/4 c. milk
Preparation

Sift together dry ingredients. Combine egg yolks, butter and milk.
Stir into dry ingredients.
Fold in egg whites leaving a few fluffs.
Sprinkle chips and pecans over batter in waffle maker.
Bake.
Makes 3 (10-inch) waffles.
