Ingredients

1 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
3/4 c. sour cream
3 3/4 c. sifted flour
1 3/4 tsp. baking powder
Preparation

Work shortening until creamy.
Stir in sugar gradually.
Add egg and beat well.
Add sour cream.
Mix well.
Add remaining dry ingredients.
Chill overnight.
Roll and cut with cookie cutters. Brush cookies with egg whites.
Add sprinkles before baking.
Bake at 350\u00b0 until light brown, about 10 to 12 minutes.
