Vegetable Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground beef
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    1 c. diced carrots
    2 Tbsp. rice
    1 c. diced potatoes
    1 c. chopped celery
    1 c. chopped cabbage
    1 c. canned tomatoes
    1 c. corn or beans
Preparation
    Brown meat in butter in heavy pan.
    Add onions; cook with meat for a minute.
    Add salt and tomatoes.
    Simmer while preparing other vegetables.
    Add raw vegetables and cook until tender.
    Use liquid from canned vegetables or water to cook vegetables in. Add remaining cooked vegetables and enough liquid for a soup and simmer 5 minutes.
    Allow 15 minutes for rice.
    Add before cooked vegetables.
    Leave soup thick or add tomato or water.
