Five Hour Oven Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 to 3 lb. sirloin, cubed
    1 (28 oz.) can whole tomatoes with liquid
    1 1/2 lb. sliced carrots
    1 1/2 c. sliced celery
    2 onions, sliced
    2 cans sliced water chestnuts
    3/4 c. sliced fresh mushrooms
    1 garlic clove, minced
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    3 Tbsp. Minute brand tapioca
    1/2 c. red wine
    pepper to taste
Preparation
    Mix all ingredients in a 4-quart casserole or Dutch oven. Cover and cook at 250\u00b0 for 5 hours, stirring once or twice. (Ingredients and quantities can be varied to your liking.)
    This can be prepared ahead of time but not frozen.
    Serves 6.
