Ingredients

1 c. cake flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 c. sugar
2 Tbsp. cocoa
1/2 c. milk
2 Tbsp. butter, melted
1 c. chopped nuts
1 c. brown sugar, packed
1/4 c. cocoa
1 3/4 c. hot water
Preparation

Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
Sift flour, baking powder, salt, sugar and 2 tablespoons cocoa into bowl.
Stir in milk and melted butter. Blend in nuts.
Spread in a 9 x 9-inch square pan.
Combine brown sugar and 1/4 cup cocoa and sprinkle over the top.
Pour hot water over entire batter.
Bake 45 minutes.
During baking, cake mixture rises to top and chocolate sauce settles to bottom.
Serve warm spooned into sauce dishes with whipped cream.
Makes 9 servings.
