Mom'S Custard Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 eggs
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/4 c. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 1/2 c. milk
    1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
    1 (9-inch) unbaked pie shell
Preparation
    Line unpricked pie shell with a double thickness of heavy-duty foil.
    Bake at 450\u00b0 for 8 minutes.
    Remove from the oven and set aside.
    In a mixing bowl, beat the eggs just until combined.
    Blend in sugar, salt and vanilla.
    Stir in milk. Carefully pour into crust.
    Cover edges of pie with foil.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
    Remove foil; bake 15 to 20 minutes longer or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean.
    Cool on a wire rack.
    Sprinkle with nutmeg.
    Store in the refrigerator. Yield: 6 to 8 servings.
