Pear Preserves - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 qt. peeled, cored and quartered pears
1 1/2 c. sugar
Preparation

Peel, core and quarter enough to make 1 quart of pears. Combine and boil for 5 minutes, 1 cup water and sugar.
Add pears to syrup and bring gently to a boil.
Then boil rapidly until pears are clear and tender.
Syrup should be thick.
Pack in hot, sterilized jars and seal immediately.
Lemon or pineapple slices may be added for flavor.
