Aunt Gertrude'S Nut Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. butter
    2 c. sugar
    6 eggs
    2 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 lb. candied cherries
    1/2 lb. candied pineapple
    1 lb. pecans
    4 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar.
    Add beaten eggs and vanilla.
    Add 3 cups of flour, salt and baking powder.
    Mix remaining flour with fruit and nuts.
    Stir into batter.
    Pour into tube pan that has been lined with brown paper and is well-greased.
    Bake at 250\u00b0 for 2 to 3 hours.
    Let cool in pan.
    Store in covered pan or wrap well.
