Ingredients

2 1/2 c. brown sugar
1 Tbsp. water
1 qt. milk
3 Tbsp. cornstarch
2 egg yolks
1 qt. cream
2 egg whites, beaten
2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Make a syrup of brown sugar and water.
Cook 5 minutes and cool.
Mix cornstarch and egg yolks and cook until it coats a wooden spoon.
Mix with syrup and strain.
Add cream, beaten egg whites and vanilla.
Add milk to the fill line on a gallon freezer.
Freeze until firm.
