Fruit Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 oz. butter or margarine
    3 eggs
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 c. chopped citron
    1/4 c. chopped figs
    1 c. sugar
    1 2/3 c. flour
    1/3 c. raisins
    1/4 c. grated orange rind (or pickled orange peel)
    1/4 c. chopped almonds
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar well.
    Add eggs, one at a time and mix thoroughly.
    Gradually add flour, baking powder and then the fruit and orange rind.
    Nuts may be added to the mixture or sprinkled in bottom of pan before adding the batter.
    The cake is baked in a special grooved pan which is about 4 inches across and 11 inches long and resembles a tube which has been cut lengthwise.
    Grease and flour pan and add batter.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 60 minutes.
    Cool a few minutes and then turn pan upside-down on a wire rack to cool completely.
