Old Fashioned Soft Custard - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. scalded milk
    2 whole eggs or 4 egg yolks
    1/8 tsp. salt
    4 Tbsp. sugar
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Scald milk in top of double boiler.
    Beat together slightly the eggs, sugar and salt.
    Add to hot milk and mix well and return to top of double boiler.
    Cook over hot water, stirring often, until eggs coat spoon.
    Let cool and serve with whipped cream or cookies.
