Ingredients

1/2 lb. butter
2 c. sugar
4 c. flour
1 level tsp. salt
1/2 lb. margarine
2 tsp. vanilla
1 level tsp. soda
1 c. butter
2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1/4 c. powdered sugar
1 Tbsp. water
1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar.
Add vanilla and water; add flour and mix well.
Stir in nuts.
Form small rolls 1 1/2 inches long. Bake on ungreased sheet at 300\u00b0 for 20 minutes until delicately browned.
While hot, roll in powdered sugar.
Makes 3 dozen.
