Country Style Cornbread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. self-rising cornmeal
2 Tbsp. bacon drippings, melted, or vegetable oil
2 eggs, beaten
2 c. buttermilk
Preparation

Heat oven to 450\u00b0. Grease 9-inch skillet with shortening or oil. (Use bacon drippings if available.) Leave oil in bottom of pan. Place pan in oven to heat. Combine cornmeal, eggs, buttermilk and melted bacon drippings. Whisk well. Pour into hot skillet. Batter will sizzle. Bake at 450\u00b0 for 35 minutes or until golden brown. Serves 6 to 8.
