Mom'S Apple Cobbler - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter or margarine
    1 1/2 c. sifted self-rising flour (Martha White)
    2 c. water
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/3 c. milk
    2 c. peeled, chopped apples
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Melt butter in a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish.
    In medium saucepan, heat sugar and water until sugar melts. Cut shortening into flour, until mixture resembles coarse corn meal.
    Add milk and stir with a fork only until dough leaves side of bowl.
