Yellow Squash Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 qt. unpeeled squash
    8 medium onions, chipped small
    3 green peppers, chipped fine
    1 c. salt, dissolved in cold water
    5 c. sugar
    3 c. vinegar
    2 Tbsp. mustard seed
    1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
    1 1/2 tsp. celery seed
Preparation
    Prepare mixture in a large pot.
    Add squash, onions and peppers; bring to a boil.
    Cook about 15 minutes or until tender. Put in jars and seal.
    Makes about 8 pints.
