New England Dinner - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 lb. beef roast
    1 large head cabbage, quartered
    1 1/2 lb. whole carrots, cut across middle
    3 medium onions (whole)
    6 potatoes, halved
Preparation
    Dip roast in seasoned flour and brown in skillet.
    Put roast in a Dutch oven or large pan with lid.
    Cook 1 hour and add cabbage, carrots, whole onions and water to cover.
    Cook 1 hour and then add potatoes; cook until tender.
    Serve with each vegetable in its own dish and meat on platter.
    The broth is great for gravy.
    The leftovers from this dish makes a great vegetable soup; just add a few other vegetables and tomato juice.
