Apple Butter - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    apples, washed, cored and sliced (16 c. apple pulp)
    8 c. sugar
    1 c. cider or vinegar
    4 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. cloves
Preparation
    Slice unpeeled apples; cook until they are tender and run through colander.
    Combine all ingredients.
    Cook in covered pan or roaster in a 350\u00b0 oven for 1 1/2 to 2 hours or until a small amount of the mixture will hold its shape when cool.
    Stir down from the sides 2 or 3 times during the process.
    The Apple Butter does not stick to the pan or scorch.
    It does beautifully cooked in crock-pot 5 or 6 hours.
