Quick Cherry Dessert - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. (2 sticks) butter or margarine
1 1/2 c. granulated sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp. almond extract
2 c. flour (all-purpose)
2 tsp. baking powder
1 can (21 oz.) cherry pie filling
Preparation

In large bowl cream butter and sugar; add eggs.
Beat until light and fluffy.
Add almond extract; stir in flour and baking powder.
Mix until smooth.
Butter a 13 x 9-inch pan.
Turn mixture into pan.
Spoon pie filling into cake in 6 spots, spacing 4 spoonfuls evenly in each direction.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 to 50 minutes, until done.
Filling will sink into cake while baking. Place bottom side up on serving plate.
Dust with powdered sugar if used.
Spoon Cool Whip on top if desired.
