Ingredients

5 egg yolks
1 c. sugar
1/8 tsp. salt
4 1/2 c. whipping cream or replace 2 c. cream with 2 c. milk
1 Tbsp. vanilla extract
1 c. fresh blueberries
1/3 c. sugar
1 Tbsp. water
1/3 c. lemon juice
Preparation

In a medium bowl, beat egg yolks.
Add 1 cup sugar and salt, beating until well blended; set aside.
In a medium saucepan over medium to low heat, bring 2 cups of the cream to just under boiling.
Gradually stir in 1/3 of hot cream into the yolk mixture until smooth, then stir back into hot cream in saucepan.
Stirring over low heat, cook until mixture coats a metal spoon and is slightly thickened.
