Pump House Stew - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 lb. cubed beef
3 Tbsp. tapioca
1/2 c. bread crumbs
1 bunch carrots, quartered
1 bunch celery (2-inch) pieces
8 to 10 small onions
1 (No. 2) can tomatoes
salt and pepper
1 c. red wine
Preparation
-
Place in a casserole or roaster by order listed, except the wine, which is added last hour of baking.
Cover tightly and place in 250\u00b0 oven for 2 hours.
Open and stir well from the bottom. Return to oven and bake 5 hours total.
Add the red wine during the last hour of baking.
Serves a crowd.
