Huckleberry Muffins - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    1/4 c. shortening
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. milk
    1 c. huckleberries or blueberries
    1/2 tsp. salt
    4 tsp. baking powder
    1 egg
Preparation
    Sprinkle berries with a little of the flour.
    Sift remaining flour with other dry ingredients.
    Melt shortening; combine with milk and beaten egg yolks.
    Mix dry and liquid mixtures quickly; fold in stiffly beaten egg white.
    Bake for 1/2 hour in a 400\u00b0 oven.
