Grandma Gidley'S Soft White Sugar Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. white sugar
    1 c. shortening
    1 c. buttermilk
    2 tsp. vanilla
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. baking powder
    2 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. salt
    4 to 5 c. flour
Preparation
    Cream sugar and shortening.
    Combine dry ingredients and add alternately with buttermilk.
    Roll out and cut with cookie cutter. Frost or sprinkle with white sugar before cutting.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 10 minutes.
