Canned Christmas Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 oz. red maraschino cherries, diced, undrained
    2 1/2 c. plain flour
    1 c. sugar
    4 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 eggs
    2/3 c. milk
    1/3 c. melted margarine
    12 oz. green maraschino cherries, diced
    1/2 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    You will also need 1 1/2-pint straight canning jars.
