Applesauce Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter
    2 c. sugar
    2 c. applesauce
    1 c. broken pecans or walnuts
    1 c. raisins
    3 c. all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 3/4 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Cream sugar and butter until light and fluffy. Add applesauce, raisins and nuts which have been dredged in 1/4 cup of the measured flour. Sift all dry ingredients together; add to the mixture. Pour into tube pan and bake 1 1/2 hours in slow oven at 325\u00b0. Ice with Caramel Icing.
    Cake keeps a long time. (Notice, no eggs.)
