Refrigerator Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 large onions
    cucumbers, sliced thin
    4 c. sugar
    4 c. vinegar
    1/2 c. salt
    1 1/2 Tbsp. celery seed
    1 1/3 Tbsp. mustard seed
    1 1/2 tsp. turmeric powder
Preparation
    Slice the onions and enough cucumbers to fill a gallon jar. Mix the remaining ingredients; bring this to a boil.
    Pour over cucumbers and onions.
    Put in refrigerator.
    Ready to eat in 2 weeks.
