Peanut Butter Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 egg, slightly beaten
    1/2 c. peanut butter
    1/2 c. shortening or margarine
    1/2 c. white sugar
    1/2 c. light brown sugar, firmly packed
    1 1/4 c. plain flour
    1/4 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Thoroughly
    cream shortening, peanut butter, sugars and egg. Sift
    dry ingredients together.
    Add to creamed mixture. Add vanilla.
    Chill.
    Roll
    dough
    into
    walnut-size
    balls. Place about
    2
    inches apart on lightly greased baking sheet. Flatten with fork.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes or until set, but not hard.
    Yields 3 dozen.
