Old Fashion Tea Cakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter or margarine
    2 c. sugar
    3 eggs
    2 Tbsp. buttermilk
    5 c. all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cream butter and gradually add sugar, beating well.
    Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition.
    Add buttermilk and beat well.
    Combine flour and soda; gradually stir into creamed mixture.
    Stir in vanilla; chill dough several hours or overnight. Roll dough to 1/4 inch thick on floured board.
    Place 1-inch apart on lightly greased cookie sheets.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 until light brown. Sprinkle sugar over them.
