Layered Lettuce Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce
    1 c. celery, diced
    4 eggs, hard-cooked and sliced
    1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen peas, uncooked
    1/2 c. green pepper, diced
    1 medium sweet onion
    8 slices bacon, fried and diced
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    4 oz. Cheddar cheese
    1 1/2 c. mayonnaise
Preparation
    Tear clean lettuce into small bite-size pieces into large casserole dish, 9 x 13-inch.
    Layer the rest of the ingredients in order given.
    In small bowl, add sugar to mayonnaise and spread over the top of salad as you would frost a cake.
    Top with cheese. Cover and refrigerate 8 to 12 hours.
