Canned Slaw - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 onions
    8 carrots
    3 or 4 large cabbage
    12 peppers (sweet, 6 red and 6 green; red makes it pretty)
    3 pt. vinegar
    6 c. sugar
    1 tsp. mustard seed
    1 tsp. celery seed
Preparation
    Grate onions, peppers, carrots and cabbage.
    Sprinkle 1/2 cup salt over mixture and let stand for 2 hours.
    Wash off real good.
