Texas Hash - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 Tbsp. shortening
    3 large onions, sliced
    1 large green pepper
    1 lb. ground beef
    2 c. (No. 1 can) cooked tomatoes
    1/2 c. washed uncooked rice or 2 c. noodles
    1 tsp. chili powder
    2 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    In shortening, cook ground beef, onions and green pepper. Stir in tomatoes, either rice or noodles (your choice), chili powder, salt and pepper.
    Pour into greased 2-quart casserole; cover and bake for 1 hour at 350\u00b0.
    Remove cover the last 15 minutes.
