Ingredients

1 c. shortening (1/2 c. Crisco and 1/2 c. margarine)
1/2 c. white sugar
1/2 c. confectioners sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. soda
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
2 c. flour
pinch of salt
Preparation

Cream sugar and shortening.
Add egg and mix well.
Add vanilla and mix until blended well.
Stir in dry ingredients and mix until creamy.
Drop by teaspoon on greased cookie sheet and flatten with a small glass dipped in white sugar.
Works better if cool dough in refrigerator for awhile.
Can then roll out with fingers.
Makes nicer and rounder cookies.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 5 to 8 minutes or until brown.
