Granny Ward'S Ginger Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/3 c. soft shortening
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 1/2 c. dark molasses
    1/2 c. cold water
    6 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. allspice
    1 tsp. ginger
    1 tsp. cloves
    1 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation
    Mix together well the shortening, brown sugar and molasses, then stir in the cold water.
    Sift together and stir in the flour and spices.
    Stir in 2 teaspoons of soda, dissolved in 3 tablespoons of cold water.
    Chill dough.
    Roll out very thick (1/2 inch).
    Place far apart on lightly greased baking sheet.
    Bake about 7 minutes in a 350\u00b0 oven.
