Waldorf-Astoria Red Flannel Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 1/2 c. cake flour or regular flour
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 oz. red food color
    1 tsp. cocoa
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. soda in 1 tsp. vinegar
Preparation
    Cream sugar, eggs and butter.
    Mix coloring with cocoa; add to mixture.
    Add buttermilk with salt alternately with flour.
    Add vanilla; add soda and vinegar.
    Beat 2 to 3 minutes.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes in 2 (9-inch) or 3 (8-inch) pans.
    Put cake in refrigerator after cool (overnight).
