Apricot Orange-Nut Loaf - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. soft shortening
    1 egg
    3/4 c. milk
    3/4 c. orange juice
    4 tsp. grated orange rind
    3 c. sifted flour
    3 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    3/4 c. chopped nuts
    1 c. finely chopped dried apricots
Preparation
    Mix thoroughly sugar, shortening and egg.
    Stir in milk, orange juice and rind.
    Sift together and stir in flour, baking powder and salt.
    Blend in nuts and apricots.
    Pour into well-greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.
    Let stand 20 minutes before baking.
    Bake until toothpick stuck into center comes out clean. (Crack in top is characteristic.) Bake at 350\u00b0 for about 70 minutes.
