Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. cornmeal
1 small onion, finely chopped (optional)
3/4 c. milk
1 egg, beaten

Preparation

Mix dry ingredients; add onion, milk and egg.
Fry teaspoonfuls of batter in hot fat until golden brown.
Drain; serve hot.
