Sopaipillas - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c all-purpose flour
    1 T baking powder
    1 tsp salt
    3 T shortening
    1 1/3 c hot water
    Vegetable oil
Preparation
    Combine flour, baking powder and salt in a large mixing bowl; cut in shortening with a pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse meal.
    (Dough will be sticky).
    Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface, and knead 5 to 10 times.
    Cover and let rise at least 30 minutes.
